ABOUT

And Action! Hi! I’m Rege Lewis. Pronounced, Reggie.

I proudly earned my magna cum laude graduate degree in Performance from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) and fine-tuned my skills at the renowned William Esper Studio under the guidance of Bill Esper. You may recognize me from my impactful guest star roles in “FBI,” “The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete,” “Boardwalk Empire,” and “Chicago PD.” My journey into acting was sparked in Augusta, Georgia, by my inspiring 12th-grade English teacher, Mrs. Diane Gilyard, which led me to explore the world of local theater.

In 2003, armed with only $150, my trusty 1988 Oldsmobile boasting 151,000 miles, and an Exxon gas card, I embarked on a daring drive from Augusta, Georgia, to Hollywood, California. Success quickly followed, with a swift signing with the Bob Waters Agency and a Guest Star role on CBS’ “The Handler” after just three auditions. My career has since flourished across television, film, and theater, with notable performances such as originating the character of Malcolm X in the Broadway-bound play “Phenomenal Woman: Maya Angelou” and portraying ‘The Carjacker’ in “1:23.”

Beyond the limelight, I’ve received a Proclamation from Mayor Hardie Davis and the City of Augusta in 2015, designating June 15th as Rege Lewis Day. I am deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of artists, dedicating my time to working with youth and young adults in higher education for the arts. Holding a BA in Business, I emphasize the term “Show Business” and proudly serve as the founder and artistic director of X Out Bullying with the AntiBullyingTeam, Inc., a stage play and initiative designed for grades 3rd-5th. Additionally, I am the founder and CEO of I Act New York, a safe space acting academy for youth located in North Carolina.

My journey from Augusta to Hollywood symbolizes not just a career in performance but a commitment to making a positive impact on and off the stage. I am more than an actor—I am a mentor, a visionary leader, and a storyteller dedicated to inspiring change through the arts. Welcome to the world of Rege Lewis!
